Jay Z and Kanye Setting the World Afire with Watch the Throne and The Throne Tickets   by Brian Sarna

The long-awaited has finally been released and hip hop has a new super group to aspire to match. The Throne release Watch the Throne Monday to rave reviews, drawing four of four stars from USA Today’s Steve Jones and already selling out tour dates for the upcoming Watch the Throne concert schedule.

Now, Jay Z and Kanye West are unlike any hip hop super group that has come forward before. Collaborations between the Odd Future, Eminem and Royce da 5’9”, Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y, and even Andre 3000 and Big Boi fail to have brought together two universally recognized artists at the inception of the project. Jay Z and Kanye West are superstars meeting at the top of their game, and this is something unlike any thing else every seen in this musical genre.

Of course, Jay Z and Kanye West have along history. Jay Z signed Kanye as a producer, unsure whether West would ever be a viable talent in front of the microphone since he hardly exuded “the street” image so many hip hop record labels were searching for. A decade later Kanye West has become one of the most visible hip hop artists and Jay Z and he have recorded one of the most anticipated albums of the year for any musical genre.

Watch the Throne is being praised for its expert use of sampling, its featured artists, and the complimentary styles of the two stars. Where Jay Z is able to coolly pick issues and make points with deft lyrics, Kanye exudes the maniac energy and emotion that has made him a club favorite. Together, each track ebbs and flows effortlessly. This is the first full-length studio effort for a pair who appeared on each other’s work 13 times sine 2002. Fans and critics will be glad that the original five track EP was extended into an entire album and will quickly forget that they had to wait a year to hear the exploits of two expert rhymes-men.

The Watch the Throne album is currently available on iTunes, but will be out in Cd form Friday. The Watch the Throne tour begins October 29, 2011 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta and will run until December 18, 2011 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. In between Jay Z and Kanye will play 22 concerts, so check the tour schedule and find the Throne tickets to see this duo in person after purchasing the album.
