Choosing Wedding Songs That Count by Autumn H. Diaz
Songs have been a part of people’s lives since birth, even some while still in the womb. It is therefore just fitting to celebrate a milestone in a person’s life such as a wedding with the right mix of songs. Wedding songs will set the right mood for a solemn ceremony, and will also add to the air of festivities during a reception. As with all planning efforts, each song to be played or sung must be properly set to sustain the right atmosphere for the wedding and the reception.
Event specialists often collect a list of songs from couples who are planning to get married. The lists contain songs that are special to the newlyweds in one way or another. It may be a theme song or a song that was playing in the background when they first met; or simply favorite songs that have contributed to a strong relationship. Whatever the songs are, the wedding coordinator then chooses the ones which are appropriate for the location of the ceremony and the reception afterwards.
Wedding songs can either be played by a band, a soloist, or a choir, depending on the mood that couples would want to set. Of course, there will be restrictions when playing certain songs in places of worship, so it is up to the wedding planner to make sure that the correct music is played in these locations.
Aside from places of worship however, bands and soloists can play or sing just about any song that would make the atmosphere lively or formal. What is typical of wedding songs is that a majority of them are Love Songs that are normally reserved for the more solemn locations. Classic wedding songs that have a formal touch to them are usually reserved for the ceremony itself, but for the most part of the reception, almost any music genre can be heard playing in the background.
Special events coordinators have a wide network of wedding performers that can be called to play or sing at such an event, although some couples prefer to choose the performers themselves; sometimes even asking friends and family members to sing a song or two. This further adds to the festive atmosphere that is always seen at weddings.
Interestingly, a lot of these wedding songs have been compiled and released in the market for anyone wishing to feel the solemn mood of a wedding ceremony. These have proven a handy tool for couples having difficulty choosing the perfect nuptial song for their special day. Some couples even go to the point of having planners assemble a collection of songs in Cd‘s to be given away as souvenirs to their guests.
All in all, wedding songs can be considered a factor in determining the success of a marriage ceremony. It sets an atmosphere of celebration and entices all the people involved to join in the festivities, be it classic or contemporary, rock or pop. What’s important is the main reason for the celebration, and that is the union of two families.
